From New Jersey, CVZ grew up playing and boating on the beaches at the Jersey Shore. Although it seems a contradiction to use the words Chris Van Zant and GREW-UP in the same sentence, it's the best we could come up with. He's a motor head who spent a lot of time in his teenage years ‘racing in the streets’ on the "circuit" in Asbury Park, NJ. CVZ attended college in Colorado and majored in Aviation Sciences. Following in his father's footsteps, he pursued a career in aviation. Flying and Radio have taken him to such places as Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland and Florida to name a few. For many years, his canine friend Boomer-Moondoggie, adopted while in Florida, traveled with CVZ wherever he went and was a true loyal companion. Still a kid at heart, CVZ enjoys riding his “scooter” and boating with his two sons, Christopher John and Benjamin Joseph. Not much of a fisherman, when asked, "What'd ya catch today?" CVZ's usual reply is "a tan," and that's all good with him.
